About our Caravan and Camp site...
Nestled in Robin Hood‘s North Nottinghamshire Trentfield Farm is located on the banks of the River Trent in the quiet hamlet of Church Laneham. We are a caravan and camp site that‘s ideal for visiting Sherwood Forest, The city of Lincoln, Sundown Adventureland and Clumber Park. We work on a good old fashioned policy of a traditional Caravan and camping park, but with all the mod cons and excellent customer service.
Based on the Lincolnshire / Nottinghamshire border, we are lucky enough to be in a great location for visiting the local market towns of Gainsborough, Retford or Newark , and of course Lincoln. The farm itself dates a very long way with documents showing it way past 1774.
The site itself is level and free draining, and despite only being on grass we cope with the largest of motorhomes. The electric pitches are a minimum of 16amp and nearly all have adjacent water points, so no need to trek for water. As we are on the side of the river Trent we have a limited amount of fishing peg‘s as well as some shared ones with the local club. Golfers are also well catered for with a number of good courses including Laughterton, Rufford and Lincoln Golf Club based at Torksey, just over the river. On park is our eco friendly toilet and shower block, as well as facilities for washing and drying clothes and a large sink facility for campers. Every customer gets an information pack on arrival as well as a feedback card to reflect on their stay.
No good caravan or camping site should be without its own pub, the Ferry Boat Inn is a short walk down the towpath and is both dog and child friendly. It serves a good range of food to eat in or take away as well as being proud to serve a selection of CAMRA ‘Locales‘ which sometimes includes Springhead brewery, which is based in the main village. The local shop is a 5 minute drive or 10 minute cycle away which has provisions of papers, milk, and freshly baked bread!
Good eco-practice has always been at the heart of the business and we continue to try and improve energy efficiency and waste wherever possible and do ask our customers to recycle as much as possible. In conjunction with Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust we have constructed an artificial Otter holt and created an enclosed conservation area on the banks of the river. Badgers, Partridges, Pheasants and Hare‘s are all a common sight and there are miles of quiet lanes, tracks and walks in the parish for you to enjoy the wildlife.
Who‘s Welcome ? - The simple answer is everybody, whether they be in a small tent or large caravan with awning. There is plenty of room for children to play, without disturbing the tranquillity of our other customers. We are not a large commercial site and our reputation is based on the service we give, and that‘s why people come back time and time again. We are very careful how we site our customers to try and ensure everyone has a good time, comes back and more importantly tells their friends and leaves a great review!
Finally, we are one of the best locations for staying during a number of events during the year including Waddington air show, Lincoln Christmas Market, The Kit Car Show and Newark antiques fair at respective Showgrounds. There are also regular events held at Clumber Park / Sherwood Forest or Pines.
We look forward to welcoming you to our Caravan and Campsite and to experience Nottingham and its county at its best, and don‘t forget to ‘like‘ us on the Facebook page and keep up to date with current offers.
