What to see & do around Trentfield Farm

Here‘s just a short taster of the best “what to see and do” in the area, most are within a short drive (Maximum of 3/4 hour), and many are Best Kept Secrets, some of the photo‘s link directly to the Web-Sites.

Our site has free Wi-Fi so you can research where you want to go at any time, the staff team here at the farm also have a good knowledge of what to see, so dont hesitate to ask.

    The Ferry Boat Inn

    The Ferry Boat is a short walk from the site, selling a variety of local ales as well as a very well priced menu.

    The Bee’s Knee’s

    The Bee’s knee’s is situated in the main village of Laneham, serving a wide range of cask ales as well as a huge selection of gins. Menu also available, as well as take away delivered to site.

    Distance: 1 Mile

    Eyre Arms

    The Eyre Arms is a lovely traditional village inn a relaxing walk or cycle away with great friendly service. Serving everything from bar snacks and traditional pub grub to fine dining, there is climbing frame to entertain the children too!

    Country Kitchen Cafe

    Fabulous home cooked breakfasts, light lunches and wonderful selection of scrumptious CAKES! – Come and meet Terri, Paris and the team.

    Walking & Cycling

    Walking and Cycling is something that you won’t tire of whilst staying at Trentfield, either directly from the park or off site. From the park itself there are miles of riverside walks and cross country/field footpaths. We have OS maps at reception which you are free to borrow at any time.

    Cycling is a reason that many of our customers come, there are so many quiet roads in the area which make it wonderful and safe area to cycle in. The sustrans network also has a track that goes directly into Lincoln – We are told thats really cool too

    Clumber Park

    Clumber Park and Sherwood Forest are just a short trip from the park. Clumber Park is exceptional and one of the National Trusts Gems. We are so lucky to have great attractions in the area, such as Sherwood Pines, Rufford Abbey, Newstead, Doddington Hall all in close proximity to the Caravan and Camp site

    Nottingham

    Nottingham – Home to the Oldest pub in England! Nottingham boasts many, many things to do, and naturally has its own web-site. The Tales of Robin Hood, Castle, Lace Market, Nottingham Caves and Shopping Areas are all worth a visit, but don‘t forget a visit to “ye olde trip to jerusalem”. You can also get the train into Nottingham from Collingham (15 minutes), as parking in Nottingham can sometimes be a “Challenge”

    Doddington Hall

    Stands today exactly as it was built with its walled gardens, gatehouse and family church. The elegant Georgian interior contains a fascinating collection of pictures, textiles, porcelain and furniture that reflect four centuries of unbroken family occupation.

    Sherwood Forest & The Major Oak

    You cannot visit Nottingham and Nottinghamshire without visiting the world famous Sherwood forest & the Major Oak (Edwinstowe), and home of the Robin Hood Festival and visitor centre. There are many attractions in and around the Sherwood area including Rufford Park, Newstead Abbey & a new art and craft centre all to prove popular. There is loads to do for young and old, but watch out for the wicked sheriff of Nottingham.

    Distance: 30 minute drive.

    Lincoln

    The City of Lincoln is just a short drive from the Caravan site and the Cathedral can be clearly seen on a fine day or summers evening from the site. Lincoln is a hidden gem of the the East Midlands, with its Castle, the Magna Carta, Victorian Crown Court (Open to the public), and of course the “Steep Hill” – Its a wonderful place to visit. We are probably the best located caravan site for visiting Lincoln in the area.

    Distance: 15-20 Minute Drive

    Sundown Adventureland

    For those with under 10‘s, this is unmissable day out, and only 5 minutes down the road. It is the UK‘s only theme park designed for juniors and has won a number major national awards. Alton Towers for little people!, Never a bad report.

    GO Ape!

    Go Wild at Go Ape, A wild high wire experience in the Sherwood Pines area, Booking is essential at Weekends. Its not for the faint hearted!
